Leticia: Leticia offers a wide variety of hotels. DE UNA can arrange any one of them according to your wishes and budget. We however also recommend to experience an authentic jungle stay at one of the below ecolodges outside of Leticia in the middle of the rainforest.
Palmari jungle lodge: experience the Amazon jungle at its best at the beautiful Palmari natural reserve, situated on Brazilian territory and about a 3 to 5 hour boat ride from Leticia (depending on the season). The lodge is beautifully located along the banks of the Yavari river where you can spot a lot of fresh water dolphins. The accommodation offers rooms as well as slightly bigger lodges, all featuring a private bathroom. It is also possible to organize a single or multiple day tour where you will walk through the jungle (or go by canoe) and camp in the jungle as well. Palmari has a visitor’s centre with the highest tower in the area with a viewing platform on top, providing you with relaxing views over the Yavari river and all three forest ecosystems of the Amazon. It is also possible to see both sunrise and sunset due to a 360 degree panoramic view.
Heliconia Amazonas lodge: an all-inclusive lodge with thatched-roof bungalows, wooden furniture and a terrace with views of the rainforest. Fruits are served fresh from the jungle. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. It is also situated about a 3 to 5 hour boat ride from Leticia (depending on the season).
Calanoa jungle lodge: this comfortable ecolodge is all about experiencing the rainforest through all of your senses. The beautifully designed cabins with woven palm roofs offer great views of the Amazon river, can sleep six and have private, equally beautiful bathrooms. Calanoa’s kitchen is a fusion of local Amazonian traditions with Colombian, Peruvian and Brazilian cuisine, using organic and fresh local produce and fire wood cooking. Their freshly baked bread is famous. It is located just about an hour by boat from Leticia and the ideal place to experience the jungle day and night, as well as making daytrips with a local guide to interesting spots nearby.
Marasha ecolodge: if you wish to visit the Marasha nature reserve on the Peruvian side of the Amazon river, you will combine it with staying a few nights to fully discover the area. To reach Marasha from Leticia, you will be transported on a 45-minute boat ride after which you will walk about an hour and a half before reaching the ecolodge. A professional guide will accompany you and explain about the various flora and fauna along the way. The lodge is peaceful and simple. The rooms don’t have private bathrooms.
Cabaña Flotante Kurupira: 15 minutes outside of Leticia lies this floating lodge, where you can enjoy splendid sunsets. The name Kurupira refers to the mother of jungle. There is electricity from 6 to 9 pm. Rooms come in all sizes: from hammocks and simple rooms to private suites.
Indigenous community: we also offer the possibility to stay the night at an indigenous community at San Martin de Amacayacu, just outside of Puerto Nariño. By doing this you will get a much closer insight into the indigenous way of living. Get inspired and see if you can implement some of their wisdom into your life.
